Winston Salem Teach

About Us

Start Changing Lives

Winston-Salem TEACH is a collaborative project led by three Winston-Salem Institutions of higher education
–Salem College, Wake Forest University, and Winston-Salem State University–
designed to prepare recent college graduates, paraprofessionals, and career changers to be teacher leaders in high-need Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.

Next year’s WS-TEACH Residents will receive a $45,300 stipend while completing 14-months of coursework and two clinical teaching internships in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Residents complete their coursework at the partner institution leading to licensure in their content area and participate in cross-institutional workshops throughout their residency year. After graduation, WS-TEACH Residents are supported by an innovative coaching model during their first two years and ongoing professional development during their first three years of teaching.
